1. I can add a new column to a BOM on a drawing, but I can't figure out how to link that column to a specific component/part property, such as vendor. How do you do that?

2. Does Solidworks have any way of exporting BOMs as a spreadsheet file?

3. If so, is there a way to generate and export a custom BOM that isn't displayed in any drawing files?

What version of SW are you using? In 2011:

1. When you add the new column there is a dropdown menu that allows you to select the custom property.
2. Right click in the BOM and select Save As.
3. Dunno, but I doubt it unless one of the API gurus can make a macro.
