Have a steam boiler application where I am being asked to control blowdown water flow close to vessel nozzle with process conditions of 260 deg centigrade and 46 barg i.e. just below vapour point. Moving the flow measurement away from the nozzle to decrease temperature is not a viable option.
Have looked at many options but obviously flashing/cavitation is a big issue especially on dp devices. I need a cost effective solution (so coriolis & ultrasonic is out) conductivity is low (so magflow is out).
Only thing that looks promising so far is a McCrometer V-Cone dp device.
Coming from Oil/Gas background I have little experience of Boiler systems & steam/condensate processes - any help would be appreciated.
Device is in ANSI class 600 CS line in a zone 2 hazardous area - intrinsic safety would be preferred option for the transmitter.
