What is a typical model problem for computational acoustics?

What simple geometry and conditions are considered useful for testing the integrity of an algorithm or SW package?

What are the canonical problems of computational acoustics?

Thank you.

You are wrong and not helpful.

I'm using SysNoise and some Kirkup codes
and want to verify my use of the SW with
a model problem.

Model a box with and without absorber.

There's a problem you could also solve with hand calculations.

For a closed system try the classic "transmission problem". i.e. box with rigid but absorbant walls divided by a flexible partition. This tests both force and unforced structural acoustic coupling

For an "open" radiation problem, how about a rigid circular piston in an infinite baffle radiating into infinite 1/2 space.

Both are classic text book problems.

A rigid circular piston in an infinite baffle radiating into infinite 1/2 space.

Kinsler & Frey, 3rd edition, Chapter 8.8

"Sounds" good.

Thank you.
