I am not familiar with Universal expansion Joint modelling in C-II, Experts please advice.

1) I need to model complex universal joint with 3-tie rods using CAESAR-II. Does tie-rod orientation(3 or more) will affect the calculation result? Also please advice for manual modelling which side we need to provide restraints if one end having outside nut only.

2) I read C-II application guide and modelled using comprehensive Tie-rod method as per page.no: 102 but i am getting sustained stress failure. Pls advice

3) Please clarify below (for universal expansion joint),

From end: Nuts will be on Both side of flange always.
To End : Nuts will be outside/inside or both-side, pls correct if i am wrong

Thanks

Regards
DG
