Does anyone have any information on new battery technologies which work well below
-35 degrees celsius. I am already aware of current lithium vinyl chloride.
Thanks a
head of time

How about telling us what your application is, so that an appropriate response can be made. There are batteries that work well at -55 C, but are as big as a house. Would one of those do for you?

First question .. primary or rechargeable? Hi current or low? How much power and for how long? Used about 5lbs. of primary lithiums to supply 15A at 30V for about 20 minutes at top of Everest with lots in reserve.

Good Info at under battery chemistry.

The application is a primary source that can supply low current
to a processor over a 5 - 10 year application. The extremme cold enviroments below -10 to -55 degrees celsius would be periodic and would account for 1 year of the 10 year application. Big as a house would not work. For some applications I could use something half he size of a car battery and in others I need to be the size of a couple double A's.
Thanks

hi use standard D cells in a thermal jacket below 18ins
underground this will maintain constant temp for a long time
this is standard practice for quick deploy apps
