I have an idea for a VERY inexpensive solar collector.
Need business advice, marketing etc.

Is it just an idea or have you proven it out with prototypes?

If it's the former, start working toward the latter.

Get a notebook and document everything for patent purposes. Sign and date every page. Have your sign & date witnessed.

If it's the latter, make sure you get the documentation taken care of.

If you really want to get into the development/mfg business, start talking to venture capitalists. If not, contact the big PV companies like Siemens, Shell, BP, etc. to see about licensing your invention to them.

Hire a good business consultant to help you develop a sound business plan. Or, get some books and start doing it yourself. You can also take classes through your local university or college.

In short, you're going to need some serious $$$ if you want to do the developement yourself and found nbucska's solar company

BTW, I've been in the commercial PV development business and it's brutal.

Oh yeah.

What's your definition of cheap in terms of $/kW?

Last thing. To quote RDK - a very wise man:

First get some professional legal advice.
Second get some professional accounting and tax advice.
Third get some professional insurance advise.
Finally get any other professional advice that you can think of.
