Can't locate inline temperature sensor vendor

I must be having a bad day because I have spent a good couple of hours searching for an inline temperature sensor and have come up with little.

We are having some temperature issues with a system we are developing and I need to temporarily add an inline temperature sensor to a coolant line. The ideal part would also include a display/gauge to indicate the temperature.

Here is kind of what I'm looking for but it is in the UK. I don't have anything against the UK but it doesn't have NPT or compression fittings and it would take a while to get.

Why not buy a tee fitting with the compression ends you want, and the branch having a 1/4" or 1/8" compression end. Then buy a probe-type sensor with a probe body diameter of 1/4" or 1/8"...

McMaster-Carr, Grainger, Omega...'bout a million places will sell you 1/8" stainless-shielded thermocouple probes and a good Fluke thermocouple thermometer.

Or put the sensor on the outside of the line and insulate the line. If there is no heat flow there is no temperature difference.

There can be lots of thermal lag with a strap-on probe - not great if you have changing process conditions.

For a permanent installation try a thermowell and thermocouple. Or you could try an RTD coupled to the outside of the pipe. As for instrumentation, try any of the Instrument suppliers. The Thomas register is good place to start.

amot or rosemount make digital, analog for a gauge style i would go with trend
