Can not upload to server

I open an assembly file and do a change, then save. The file then hangs for a couple of minutes then comes back with the error message "Can not upload to server". I check my cache only to find the file is still there. If I try to check it in, undo check-out, or delete it from my cache I get the same error message. Has anyone run into this?
