Can someone please give me any data which defines app. how much torque is required to rotate a camshaft in a typical chevy small block engine? I am looking for torque (friction - ft./lbs.) in a variety of rpm ranges (1500-6000).

That all depends. Do you have aftermarket valve springs? If so they have differnt strengths. Ones for high rpm's or high lift cams are harder to turn. It all depends on what set up you are running. I have turned them in the block before and they are not easly turned. If I knew why you wanted to know this I could probly help better.
