I was looking around for a camera adapter for my 484 analog storage scope.

One can find oodles of Tek brand Polaroid camera/film adapters for Tektronix scopes on eBay.

Does anyone know if there were commercial adapters for 35mm or other cameras?

Sorry I don't. Can you make one using mat board? So your camera can just sit there on the table and you pick it up jam it against the screen and snap the shot?

I don't recall ever seeing an adaptor for 35mm. Would have been totally useless, since the whole point of the camera adaptor was getting timely information and the processing overhead for 35mm back then was absurdly long.

I would agree with Keith, just make sure to get a camera with macro capability, so the scope trace is in focus.

Oh, well.

I have memories of having seen a motorized (film advance) 35mm SLR camera mounted on a storage scope, but it was likely scientific lab related, electrophysiology or perhaps electrochemical research, not typical electronic test & measurement.

Even so, it might have cobbled together from whatever.

Thanks for input.

Have you looked at ebay for a while? I have a friend(crazy) who bought an old Tek mainframe with various vertical plug-ins to study cold fusion. I was surprised at the number of old Tek items.

These days everyone plugs in their USB cables...

Keith,

Was he crazy because he bought old Tek stuff or because he studied cold fusion?

Yes, I'm keeping an eye on eBay and will buy a camera adapter for the hood part and see what I can adapt for getting snapshots.

Indeterminate... He was crazy because he bought it to study Cold Fusion but has in fact never wasted a minute on actually doing it so... is that because he's not crazy? Or is he still crazy for dropping hundreds of $$ on a Tek main frame he's only turned on about 4 times..

You got me.. [reading]

True. You get USB "scopes" for like USD 20 and up. They usually perform better than most old TEK scopes and have a far better storage. You get all information directly in your PC and most have quite good analysis SW like FFT.

I do keep some old TEK and other equipment. But that is only for the joy of it - work is done with newer and better equipment.
