I need help in calculating the required HP needed for a electrical and or hydraulic motor for the following exmamle: I have a 24' diameter grain bin that has a 12' sweep auger with 5" flighting that pulls the grain horizontally along the bin floor. From here the grain flows into a vertical auger with 9" flighting the pulls it up about 24". From here it is transferred into another horizontal auger with 7" flighting that takes the grain to the outside of the bin through a 8" horizontal tube approximately 14' long.

If you could share with me the formula to calculate this I would sure appreciate it as I need to calculate it for different bin sizes other than my example.

The augers will be moving dry corn, soybeans or wheat. I assume one would need to know this as different grains move easier or harder than others. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
