What are you folks using for the allowable tensile stress of Class 150 ductile iron pipe?
Looking online I find 16,000 psi for A53 A pipe. Using the ASME B31.3 formula, an 8" ductile iron pipe has an allowable pressure of 1,500 psi. The pipe is only rated to 150 psi. I'm either missing something or I'm not using the right tensile stress.

- suggest you to look AWWA C150 Thickness Design of Ductile-Iron Pipe

- pls look to the attached doc.

I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure..It is: Try to please everybody.
