There are a few previous threads discussing the CAP Turner slab but nothing on how to analyze it.
I am tasked with determining the maximum live load for a 6" CAP Turner slab with reinforcing found by GPR. Typical spans of ~16'. I can't find any information on HOW to determine the max live load. I have only found that there were deflection issues and that old designs did not account for full moment (in articles and previous threads). This doesn't fall under the direct design method and I am not sure how comfortable I am saying that the diagonal top bar creates a cantilever slab of 11' to center of slab. I am considering analyzing as a simple slab with span length as diagonal column to column (~21') with the top reinforcing bars at 1.5" but I can't imagine I get much capacity with tension bar near compression face. Has anyone found how to analyze a CAP Turner Slab?
Thanks!
