BS S154 -v- 070M20 1

Could anyone out there tell me if the 070M20 spec is a suitable alternative to my requirement of BS S154??

Absolutely not. 070M20 is a plain carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.16-0.24. S154 is a nickel-chromium-molybdeum steel with a carbon content of 0.27-0.35. The appropriate grade from BS 970 would be 826M31. See the following website for more information:
