I am seeking information on BRINE and AIREATION PONDS that are constructed as part of the water treatment systems for large facilities (or small communities) in remote locations (not industrial or mining waste). These are two new terms for me, so my questions are basically: what are they, how do they work, and how are they constructed.

More specifically, I would like to learn about how they function (independently and together), process diagrams (e.g. waste comes in...this happens...this end result is....), general scales/capacities, and drawings (if possible). Most importantly, I would like to understand the construction methods, construction challenges, and construction pitfalls commonly associated with such ponds.

I'll take books/internet resources or your own friendly help. I can't seem to piece the info that I've found on the Internet to understand the general scheme of things.

Thanks in advanced!

I can't answer your question, but I know that in the US it is spelled 'aeration'.

You may get better response spelling it that way.
