Bjerrum's correction factor is needed to interpret field shear strength from FVT to gain more accurate shear strength.
Bjerrum main concept is shear strength from FVT with high plastic clayey soil tend to bear over estinmated value so he correlate shear strength with PI(Plastic Index) result in reducing shear strength.
In this relationship that I have some question !
1. Is there any newer correlation with shear strength and PI?
2. What if PI is lower than 20% ???
Do I must enlarging it's shear strength ????? or there
is limitation for appling that correlation ?
3. And that Bjerrum's correlation can be applicable for
every fine material(MH, ML, CL, CH)
Thank U~
