BEAM CRIPPLING CALCULATIONS

Is there a better way to calculate crippling values of beam webs than the one given in the AISC manual? We want to use a beam clamp to support a 10kip load from the bottom flange of a 6W12 beam. Also does combining W beams and C channels have any effect on the web crippling ?
