My company has been using a program called Beam 2D by Orand Systems up until july 2010. We had a change in servers and have since not been able to contact the Beam 2D software company for a new server licence key.

Has anyone had dealings with this company? The software was very good for our needs. It appears to be a two man band (secretary and programmer), so we can only assume the software programmer has retired.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have no problem with them. Good luck with it.

Hi Cockroach,

Does that mean you have been able to contact them?

Can you tell me how?

Karl

We also use the BEAM 2D software and have tried unsuccessfully to make contact with ORAND Systems for the last two months so that we can install the program on replacement computers.

If anyone has had contact with ORAND Systems recently, please let me know.

Same problem here. 20+ licences and no support from Orand Systems to move to new computers.
Any suggestions about replacement software?

I use BeamChek (spelling is correct) ($150) or Archon Engineering ($40)

Both great programs!!

Has anyone been able to establish contact with Orand Systems yet?

I would like to obtain a hard disk of this program, once and for all. If anyone has one, please let me know.

Thanks

Joe K

We tried to make contact via phone and e-mail through the ORAND web site. No response.

The website has changed to some spam site. So don't loose your copy.

I'm going to try and find the regestry address that holds the number of trials remaining.

Thanks Karloss12. Please post any progress you make. I like this Beam 2D program (company has actually purchased it), but we have gone thru several IT managers and computer changes, so all I am running on now is a 3 year-old "free" copy, and only have 8 runs left. I want to keep this running! JoeKleko

We are now evaluating alternatives to BEAM 2D.

I was using Beam 2D and loved it, but had the same issue and am now looking for an alternative. Sword2 or anyone else, do you have any suggestions for a similar beam analysis software? If there is one that allowed you to define your own unique beam sections, that would be a major bonus!

Thanks,
Dusty
