Battery Specification

I am developing a battery specification for an Automotive application which I can give to Battery suppliers and get them to advise Battery's that will meet this specification. Also within this spec, I want to deifine the tests that I the customer will perform to qualify the battery. Can I have suggestion on what I should define in the spec and also what tests I should be performing as part of the battery qual.

SAE has standards for storage batteries and for testing them. See SAE J537, J1798, J2185, J240 and others..
