Hello Ladies and Gents,

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We (our company) just signed up for a cloud based inventory management system. The barcode readers they are recommending are Motorola MC55A0 and MC3100, which are $1000 and $1500, respectively.

Talking with the rep., we need a wireless barcode scanner, not a bluetooth, due to the fact that you can't change fields (?) with a bluetooth scanner. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a wireless scanner that is possibly a bit cheaper, or if the two Motorolas are our best bet, if it's worth the extra money for the MC3100 (though I did find one online for $800). Any input is appreciated!

Best,
Medeski

I would also be interested in any recommendations. We have a PC-based process controller for a carburizing furnace that allows part number entry via touch screen. I would like to eliminate the need for operators having to touch the screen and instead use a scanner along with a sheet of existing numbers that can be easily scanned, like what we see in the convenience store.

We've been using a SymbolMC9060 for several years now. It's durable, and dependable. We link to a Zebra printer that's also portable.
I don't know if they still even make this model but based on our experience they make good stuff.
