Can someone relay info to me how to show center lines of all components contained within an assembly. It seems I somehow was able to show centerlines in my previous assembly but cannot find the icon, etc. Thanks in advance.

Select the view (not any component in the view, but the view itself) and hit the centerline tool. If the assembly is large, be prepared to wait.

Been there, done that, bought and burned the T-shirt. It just seems like SW throws CL's randomly around the drawing, CL'ing so radii but not others, ignoring holes and full cylinders in favor of curves and fillets. We've long since gone to inserting CL's where we need them rather than letting the auto feature do it.

It is really annoying when you have a drawing of a large assembly and you accidentally insert centerlines for the whole view. You can remove them easily with Undo, but while it is trying to find all of the cylinders in locks up SW, sometimes for a considerable amount of time. It's gotten to where I reflexively hit Escape about 10 times before I ever activate the centerline tool to make sure I don't have a view selected. There really should be a confirmation dialog before it adds centerlines to the entire view.

handleman,

I thought I was the only one who hit the Esc key a bunch of times before daring the CL tool. My coworkers just think I'm OCD.
