I am allowed limited font choices for drawings, to-wit: Engineering, Intl Engineering, Intl Iso, and similar blocked fonts.
Issue: the sol-called "plus/minus" character or "±" I get by typing-in alt-0177 (Using Windows OS) comes out as 35/64. I can play around with different fonts, but I'm not getting any closer. I had a similar problem with the diameter symbol, "Ø" or alt-0216, that came out as an asterix, but solved it with appropriate font selection.
I can add as many fonts as I want (I happen to really like Arial Rounded MT Bold) but the more decorative fonts, even Microstaion's own Swiss, though they look really, really slick, tend to "take over" a drawing (i.e., they stick out too much) and worse, we have a standard that demands the use of boring fonts.
Thoughts? Has anyone conquered the ASCII character set?
I'm currently using Microstation J, though will switch to V8 in the near future.
