Can anyone suggest an anchor that has an ICC approval for cracked concrete with maximum 3/4" embedment to resist seismic load. This is regarding anchorage for seismic bracing in a PT slab for 4psf of suspended ceiling. Using an X-ray to miss the tendons to hang a ceiling ( 8' o.c ea way)- is an overkill and highly uneconomical. But to find an anchor approved in cracked concrete with only 3/4" embedment is impossible. Any suggestions?

anti-gravity paint?

Short of direclty asking the anchor manufacturer's I'm not sure what anchor can get you what you need at 3/4" embed.

Why do you need x-rays? Can't you just use the shop drawings and measure out where the tendons are?

OK, just kidding, but seriously, you may not need x-rays. They make a drill with a sensor that stops the drill upon reaching a PT-tendon so the tendons will not be damaged.

You may also want to consider using GPR to find the tendons which is a lot less expensive than x-rays. Of course a lot depends on how much rebar you have in there.

Next time it may be easier to place embeds prior to concrete placement.
