I prepared a RFQ package for CSA Z245.1 Gr. 359 Cat.I pipe, 24", 600# . Why did most vendor quote back as API 5L X52 or X60? How to evaluate the difference? I didn't find the answer from the two Standards. Can anybody provide help to make it straight for me? Thanks in advance.

The majority of pipe mills are more familiar with API 5L if it is pipleine related. You'll need to look and see if the the pipe quoted will meet your technical requirements.

I'm not familiar with the CSA code, so can't comment on the commonalities (or more importantly the differences). You can always ask the mills to either re-confirm the pipe to be supplied meets the pipe specification you provided them.
