In drafting, place a dimension. With the dimension still highlighted select the third Icon, Break/Other. At the bottom select 'NOTE' then select the dimension, it will find the attach point. You can position the note afterwards.
In the NOTE command area, 4th from the bottom, select 'CALLOUT SYMBOL:' hold down the mouse button and select the symbol you want to use. Use the 'MOVE' command to reposition the symbol. DONE, DONE. Then EDIT the dimension and the CALLOUT symbol is associtive, it moves with the dimension.
Also look at the other commands, Special characters, FCS characters.

Thx Dan - I'll give it a shot on Monday. While we've here, let me ask another question. Does Ideas have generic ANSI borders and title blocks somewhere? I've got some drawings that are pretty plain without a border of some sort. (As you can probably tell, I'm really, really new to Ideas!) Thanks - Dave
If you have a full version of 12, you should have the help and tutorial menus available to you. That might be your most powerful tool for figuring some of these problems out. Now as far as title blocks, I have only used ones that I have created, but there might be some generic ANSI ones in the install. I believe if you are in drafting mode, you can either try the import or open function. When you do that, you should be able to find a generic ANSI title block for a, b, c, d, and e.
