Am designing an aluminium structure and am torn between selecting circular hollow sections and square tubes, for the supports.
Preliminary stress calculations (taking same dimension for diameter and length)shows me that circular ones would bear more bending stresses than the square tube.
Is there someone with a different experience or knowhow? Are there factors to consider other than that?
