AISC has posted the public review copy of the 341-10 on their website.
What are your thoughs on the new layout? How about some of the new provisions?
Here are my brief thoughts:
-I think that the new highly ductile/ moderately ductile definitions will be pretty useful.
-I think that SCBF's are almost unuseable now. the b/t ratios are so restrictive, especially for square tubes, and the new analysis requirement seems really tedious.
-What does the minimum rotation requirement for SCBF beam to column connections equate to in real life? Can a single shear plate take .025 radians?
Thanks for your thoughts
