Accidental Level of Detail Added....

So I've managed to accidentally add a Level of Detail to one of my assemblies. Not only do I not need it, but it is also exactly the same as the full assy.

How the hell do I get rid of it?

In Model Browser -> Representations -> Level of Detail with double click activate your favorite Level of Detail for example Master. After all with right click you will be able to delete unnecessary one.

What5 do you mean by "model browser" ?

If your Browser is not visible, try to check button in View -> User Interface -> Browser.

Right, it's not that it wasn't visible, so much as that I didn't previously know that that was what inventor called it, so I had to turn it off to find out what it was.

I was brought up with Catia, so I would call that the tree (just FYI for anyone else who doesn't know inventor terminology). Also, for future reference, "Representations" is a folder towards the top of said tree.

Ok, I now have a secondary problem. My drawing is referencing the level of detail I wasnt to delete, how do I change that?

edit the base view and select a different representation..

Sounds like it might be worth while to take a 2 day Inventor course as not knowing the absolute basics can cost you quite a bit of time/mistakes,etc.. in the long run
At the very least sit down and run through the tutorials/help files,etc.. There are tons of youtube videos too..

Don't be ridiculous. Terminology is predominantly the problem here, not an inability to CAD, which means that it is quicker to ask than google.

Terminology really isn't the problem..
Its that you don't know the processes that this tool requires to do the needed work..
Your last question (and your first) was about the process to delete an LOD and change the LOD reference in a drawing view.. Thats not a terminology issue at all..

Not one course that I have been on (specifically relating to use of software) has been worth spending money. Intuition & Google can solve 90% of all problems, presuming you know the actual words to google, and what is this forum for if not the last 10%?

Maybe if my previous company had had full inventor rather than being cheapskates & getting Inventor Lt I would have learned where Autodesk have decided to squirrel assembly related things away already.

Personally I find that thinking about what you want to do & working out how to do it yourself (with occasional help from the internet & experience of other software) makes you a more efficient CADer & that learning 'The Way' from someone else who tells you you should do things by a specific method on a course narrows your field of view with regards to what you consider possible.

mcgyvr: The terminology issue I was referring to was not "LoD", but "browser", knowing that would have made all the difference.

(P.S. My "secondary problem" question was laziness, not necessity)
