Hello All,

Lately been thinking about accelerated testing. There was an article in TEST magazine by William Kipp who references two papers I am trying to track down:
1. "Focused Simulation" 1993, Dennis Young
2. "Selection and Performance of Vibration Tests", 1971, by Curtis, Tinling, Abstein.

Any body familiar with these?

Any other paper recommendations?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,

George Vandyke

I'm not familiar with the papers, but you will most likely be able to get copies, at a "nominal fee", from the Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering, and Technology. Here is their website address:

Good luck!

A classic text addressing vibration damage simulation testing is Fackler,W.C.(1972), "Equivalence Techniques for Vibration Testing", SVM-9, Shock and Vibration Information Center, US Dept. of Defense, Library of Congress Catalog Card No. 72-600168 (Library Shelf No. TA 355 .F31). This 174 page monograph has chapters on Review of Cumulative Damage Theory, Cumulative Damage Equivalence, Magnitude Equivalences, Interaction Equivalences, Vibration Testing Applications. A supplementary 9 page paper is Fackler,W.C.(1974),"Recent Developments in Vibration Equivalence Concepts", ASME/AMD-Vol. 9, "Reliability Design for Vibroacoustic Environments" pp.129-137. More recently, a number of articles/papers have been published in Shock and Vibration and other magazines/journals discussing HASS (Highly-Accelerated Stress Simulation ??). I'll have to look further for the specific sources of HASS information.
