Anyone out there able to furnish me with the ultimate tensile and shear stress of AC600 aluminium used in modern car bodies?

For exact values, you will need to contact Novelis, the provider of Anticorodal®-600 PX (AC-600). The typical treatment is to form the sheet in the T4 condition and then allow it to artificially age during a paint bake operation to a T6 or T8 condition. Typical values for tensile yield strength is ~ 200 MPa after aging, tensile ultimate strength ~ 240 MPa, and elongation of 10-12%. Shear ultimate strength is ~ 60% of tensile ultimate.
