I'm tring to find a 1 to 2 HP 3 phase generator/alternator that has slip rings for variable output. Like an automobile alternator with out the diodes. 100+ volts,
All I can find is brushless.

Any help will be apprecieated.

Thanks John

Suggestion: Visit
and type "generator" under Product/Service. This will return many businesses that may be contacted for the above mentioned generator/alternator.

Thanks jbartos,
I have searched Thomas Register and all I find are self excited and permanent magnet.
I was hoping you guys might have seen one or am I dreaming?
But I'm still looking. THANKS again.
John

A self excited AC generator may be modified for variable voltage output as long as the exciter is not the permanent magnet type. As well, a small separately excited syncronous motor may be used as a generator. More specific information about the purpose/application/need for this generator may be useful in helping the forum find a solution.

Suggestion: The permanent magnet exciter may have its output tapped over sliprings and thus its output controlled externally to adjust the generator output parameters/variables.
