2D Profile from Solid

I am trying to create a 2D profile for a turning program from a solid body. I can do a 2D cross section or a lathe cross section. The problem I am having is that on this particular solid, a normal cross section will not capture all of the turning geometry because of the complexity of the part.
Does anyone know of a way that I can revolve the solid body so that the outer most features of the part are captured into one solid body so I can section it or revolve it into a 2D profile?
In other words, what would the profile of the part look like if it were rotating about it's center axis?
I am using UG V18. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Recommended for you

Rotate the section cutting plane so it goes through the part at the highest point of revolution. If these 'points' aren't on a plane, try a rotated cross section.

Alternatively, if all surfaces that are rotated out of your cutting plane are revolved surfaces, you can extract the surfaces, untrim them & then section them. Or you could draw a line at a set angle, then section those surfaces using Plane Subfunction Perpendicular Through Line, Primary Plane being the plane the reference line resides in, then rotating the resulting section curves into the intended cutting plane. A bit confusing, but it works.

Not sure if this helps, but to answer your question:

If you have a Motion license you can do this using one of the Packaging options called Trace. While rotating the geometry you can capture a profile (of a point, edge, surface or solid) at specified intervals (say, every degree of rotation).

In your example I would unite the resultant traced solids and create a section through the final part. It's a little tedious but it works.
