I am trying to perform a 2 dimensional finite element analysis. The analysis has been performed in the past (the mid 90's) and I am trying to recreate the analysis from an old FEA file so that it can be re-purposed for a similar project.

I have created the geometry using points and curves.

I would like to use something similar to a beam element to apply the area and moment of inertia to each curve in the geometry.

What would be the best method to apply these properties to each curve and how would I use it?

I have attached a picture that I have created in excel depicting the geometry that I have created in Patran.

Hi,

I attached a Linear Static Analysis of a Simply-Supported Truss done with Patran.
Give it a try, this will give you a lot of answers.
