Thanks for all the good advice, I've got an interview for Monday already. =]
My concern was that since it's my first job, I don't really have much else for references. But so far it seems like just having had a job is appealing to potential new employers.
A couple more questions:
What's the...
I'm thinking about leaving my first job. The benefits are a little lacking and the commute is starting to take it's toll (more on my car than me)
I was wondering if anyone has any advice for how to carry this out.
Should I tell my employer that I'm looking?
Can I use them as a reference?
If...
Updraft,
That's what I was thinking configurations will be the key, I was hoping to make it so that someone couldn't modify the 'base' assembly.
Thanks,
Dave
Just out of curiosity, is there a way to 'insert assembly' like 'insert part' can be used for machined & cast versions of a part. Where it automatically updates?
It could be handy if I have assemblies that should be the same except for one or two parts.
You can change the view that the symbols are associated with by adding an arrow, pointing it to something in the view and then switching to no arrow (works for notes as well)
For those of use without the SolidWorks Professional version, task scheduler doesn't seem to be able to do anything like this.
I can have it convert SolidWorks files into the 2012 version from whatever previous version, but that's about it.
Are there any alternatives for us non-fancy pants...
Well both, everything that would go into the title block on a drawing really.
Even if someone were to try and type the date in like 11/23/2011 vs 11/23/11 could cause problems since the text box was sized to fit the latter.
For our descriptions, we have 4 single line properties. I had...
Thanks! I tried that, it keeps them from "spilling over" to the left or right but that doesn't still stop me from entering in a string that's too long.
ie there's space for a 6 digit part number but I mistakenly put in an 8 digit number, the text will just expand downwards. Is there a way to...
We use a template that inserts the part name from the model into the title block.
This works fine most of the time, but sometimes we have parts that have really long names. If we don't catch it, Solidworks just prints over the next box of information.
Is there a way to limit a text box or...
How about demand based pricing and sell an LED screen that just shows the current price of electricity? the homeowner can mount it where ever it will help them save the most!
Well some how one of the elements in the flattened view became suppressed. I had to unsuppress it in both the model and had to reinsert the flat view in the drawing. (I didn't try closing and reopening, that may also have worked)
Hopefully this helps someone else somewhere down the line!
I'm having some trouble, I'm matching up my SolidWorks drawings to a previous design and playing with the offsets of my end flanges. I know this is frowned upon but I don't think it should be causing me trouble.
My problem is I'll make changes and flip back and forth between the drawing and...
Diego, DS defaults to AutoCAD 2010 file type, try changing it during saving. Production wasn't able to view our files until we changed this.
To make it default to an older version
Go to Tools>Options and select System Options
Then expant the Open/Save As line and change the default for "Save...
I work at a company that makes commercial griddles and deep fat fryers. Purchasing has requested that I investigate changing the material for the control panel from 304 SS to 430 SS.
It seems that from a corrosion perspective that this should be feasible. However, I seem to recall someone...
