Can anyone suggest websites or books as starting point to learn about pharmaceutical engineering, especially for someone with chem eng background and switching from petrochemcial field?
I am in the used lubricating oil recycling business and we are using wiped film evaporation to get the base oil from used oil. Can anyone suggest some good books or websites for me to learn more about used oil (or waste oil) treatment, or wiped film evaporation itself?
Thanks a lot!
Thanks Saxon! Our problem is, say when we neutralise sulphuric acid from waste battery, we get over-the-limit sulphate ion in the effluent. Besides, we are also having trouble treating Chromium (VI) ions.
Does anyone know how a chemical waste treatment center treat waste acid and waste alkali? As a chemical waste treatment center, all sorts of waste acid and alkali will be collected. Neutralisation is one step, but it probably won't solve all the high concentration ions, salts...etc. in the...
Dear bimr,
Sorry I can't understand. As you suggested that the system is designed with water's loading included, then if we feed the wasteater directly into the empty (drained) slant plate clarifier during start-up, the loading on the components will be built up gradually. Won't it be better...
Dear Sirs,
We use both slant-tube and slant-plate clarifier for sludge thickening in the wastewater treatment plant. It is, in our case, a standard procedure to fill the clarifier with clear water before feeding in wastewater, especially after the clarifier had been completely drained. This...
We are testing the possibility of using membrane to filter dirty lub-oil, and we found that the membrane was fouled by contaminants (very sticky) in the lub-oil. Could anyone suggest what can be used to clean the fouling? The membrane was made by teflon.
Dear all,
My company have collected some lime slurry (with about 50% sludge / lime). We are considering to use that as a component for making gypsum and mix with sludge from our in-house wastewater treatment plant, making the final product a solid substance. Could anyone tell me how to make...
Could anyone give me some advice on treatment of spent electrolyte (sulfuric acid, H2SO4). We can neutralise it but we could get the sulfate (SO4) down.
Thanks in advance!
