Thanks for the responses. i think they have helped.
Good spot, my notation was incorrect, should have been:- I have a large warehouse (W x H x L) 9.5m x 9.6m x 46.3m
I hadn't considered the cooling affect of wind moving. i did some rough calculations this morning just based on wind chill and...
Hi all,
I am newbie trying to work something out, so I'll try my best to explain.
I have a large warehouse (L x W x H) 9.5m x 9.6m x 46.3m in size, which has excellent ventilation coming in through large mesh screens at one end which are sheltered from wind.
There is old vertical stack at one...
Hi,
I am not proposing editing the ITEM ID or the PUID (persistent unique ID) which's used to make the database hold together.
I have been manually doing this for many years (25 to 30 at a guess) all the way form iMan, TcEng to present day TC. Its just a string in the database stored as a...
Hi, as per the original post really. For us the ITEM ID is the part number which is auto generated from a configured number clock. So if working with an external supplier (no access to our instance of TC) then we need to provide a large number of ITEM's up front.
Cheers,
B.....
Hi All,
I am using a journal to edit an TC item name and description from NX (of the active part). To do this, I am using the call:-
theUFSession.UFUgmgr.SetPartNameDesc (database_part_tag, part_name, part_desc) under the UFUgmgr classes
This works really well, and is simple as once you have...
Just an update.......
After trying various TC utilities (which our admin team have blocked!!!!) i used UGClone in the NX binaries.
I made it a little slicker by creating a batch file which would loop a specified number of times to clone a part which i created in advance. Then just left it to...
Hi all,
I need to create a several hundred ITEMS in TC so that I can pass part numbers to a external office.
I don't need them to have any datasets, just an ITEM & ITEM REVISION.
The ITEM ID's are automatically generated (off the clock) in TC
Does anybody know any tools or tricks to do this...
All,
I was creating a short bit of code to cycle through some stuff and report to the listing window as it went..... but it only seems to display the data in the listing window after execution... not dynamically...
The grey matter is recalling something about the move to HTML (but its too grey...
An Update.......
After a bit of idle play, I have a fudge / workaround that I thought I would share.
1.) Firstly locate an old part which contains a legacy symbolic thread (I used a really old standard part NX5 era)
2.) Import this part into your new part
3.) Copy and paste the symbolic thread...
All,
I know this has been asked before... but it still doesn't seem to be fixed by Siemens.
It seems 'still' that the thread functionality doesn't update if the underlying geometry changes i.e. change the diameter of the shaft and the thread fails... unless you open the thread feature, and...
Hi all,
Firstly I am not a formal code author (enthusiastic amateur), so please be gentle!!!
I have been creating snippets of code via NX Journals for several years (mostly to perform repetitive tasks in NX).
Recently I have started to compile my code into dll's as i think its a bit more...
Hi All,
Is there a keyboard shortcut to insert a new row in a tabular note?
I am currently using a drawing template which only has 1 blank line by default when its inserted, so find myself having to manually MB3 > Insert > Row Above(which is a bit tedious)
I sure there used to be (that, or...
Hi,
Does anyone know if any of the NX utilities can import data in to Teamcenter as datasets other than NX parts.
I have several hundred ACAD datasets which I need to pull into Teamcenter as dxf/dwg datasets, but under a regular item / item revision which is used for regular nx parts...
:(
Nope, it seems NX just wont understand the that deformable part has a dependent child... even tried variations on wave linking, promotes, extracts ect....
happy for someone to prove me wrong on NX1973
:(
thanks for offering some ideas though.....
B.....
Here's and interesting one.......
I have used deformable parts for years, so am fairly comfortable with creating and using them.
I now have a scenario which has me thinking........
We want to create a 'template part of a tube, with a fitting on either end'. The fittings are standard parts in...
