I have no formal training in AutoCad so please bear with me. I just use the help menu and fumble through.
I have Auto CAD 2004.
I have imported a TIFF drawing. The drawing has some dimensions already on it. I would like to Dimension some of the other sections of it.
Here is what I have...
Well as I wrote in my post:
0.001 in? = "I want to cut 1 in thick"
Mill Size? = "mill size plates (8 x 20)
I apologize that I did not put 8 x 20 "ft"
Material = Stainless and plate steel
I think stan's post is what I was looking for though.
Thank you
kbowers
I agree with mcguire. I am not sure how thick of plate you are cutting but now laser cutting mfgs are advertising cuts of 1 in and over on stainless. Check out these laser makers, Trumpf and PRC's websites they talk more about it. Especially if you want to weld these together later the HAZ is...
Does anyone make gantry mounted laser besides Tanaka? I would like to look at about 3 other companies before I decied on one. I want to cut 1 in thick mill size plates (8 x 20 or so) any comments on the companies would be appreciated. Newcommers welcome.
Could someone direct me to some good CAD/CAM soft makers for my turret punch press? I have seen somethings about Merry Mech and Metalsoft are there others?
I am located in the US. I will connect to 60hz 3 phase AC 450v 100KVA. I know that the laser produces -25,000 Volts. That is all I know. I am sorry that I can not provide the info you need. I am simply wondering whether I should worry that my supplier is not meeting some regulations about...
Are there regulations that require harmonic wave dampers or filters to be used with high power industrial lasers (6kw)?
I would like to buy one and am wondering if the manufacture is responsilbe for some sort of countermeasure or if i am.
Can anyone direct me to a site that explains to me the difference scroll type pumps, root pumps, and other basic pump types. I would like to see diagrams if possible but text is fine too.
I am also interested in diagrams and explanation about linear motors and other basic motors.
Thank you,
What about at high wattages? say 5kw or 6kw are there differences in the benefits of RF and DC? I assume from the power stand point the DC is still better and usually with 5 or 6 no one needs to control the power down to 10% of teh 5 or 6. I would guess though gas consumption becomes a problem.
I must investigate about power factors and I do not know anything about them. Could someone give me a basic explanation about the causes and defintions and all things relevent to a power factor. Also I am looking of info on voltage disrtotions and power distortions casued my high voltage...
I need to cut inconel. what cut rates should i expect? Is it similar to stainless steel in hardness? Can i use stainless cutrates to estimate inconel's? I am using a 3k laser

Ok thank you for the information. I am looking for low HAZ and no burs and little dross. For the next question 4kw vs 6kw on 25-32 mm. Are the cost offsetable?
