Hi All,
Our company is interested in fabricating structural steel supports for a upcoming SoCalGas project.
I'm trying to determine what Certifications or Approvals would be required to facilitate this type of work.
And any points of contact to get the ball rolling would be greatly appreciated...
Gentlemen,
Thx much for the input.
Racookpe1978,

Hello Gentlemen,
I am a Welding Inspector.
My shop has a potential client that is looking to have us weld components for
Spent fuel pool water level instrumentation.
I am concerned that we are lacking acceptance criteria.
Can anyone provide direction in regards to specs or standards dictating...
Thanks for the input guys. These forums are invaluable source of info. Even if it's only for sounding board use.
Mcgyvr, We've seen the tower packing technique as well. We have resorted to supplying proper boxes to several vendors to reduce this issue.
These parts are kraft wrapped &...
Hi All,
We are a job shop with no coating processes in house. So, we outsource our painting & powder coating.
Our vendors often assist us by packaging the finished prods. to reduce handling.
Several of our customer have recently rejected our prods. for surface scuffs & light scratching...

I have a client that has rejected my parts due to the weld nuts failing under torque.
We used the Nut MFGs weld specs & did an informal load test. Which seemed to be sufficient, for...

Kiwi,Meteng,
Thx for the replies.
I interpret 290.5 as applicable specifically to 290 Temper Bead Welding. (No?)
QW-451 does not reference removal of unfused joint mat'l prior to test.
QW-202 Types of tests require. QW-202.1 refs QW-451 & QW-463. Niether discuss prep of PJP matl's...
I'm looking for some clarification on testing a PJP groove, Procedure Qual. To Sect. IX.
Sect. IX implies that PJPs can be qualified per Table QW-451. Table QW-451 (in my humble opinion) applies to CJPs only as there is no discussion or direction for macros or removal of unfused base metal...
I have 2 questions.
I am in need of data regarding the Alum. Assoc. Docs AA ASM 35(I believe this is a design Manual.)and AA ADM 1(Perhaps another design Manual).
And their application to welding criteria.
1st Question....Do either of these Docs dictate welding Criteria.
2nd...
