I am searching recent reference for multi-story design of these core (elevator) wall with a lot of opening.
I didn't find any real life example (not C-shaped wall but real life elevator shaft with strange configuration) of these core wall design.
Is is mandatory to design them as coupled...
It's me or the concept of notional load is a lot simpler in ASCE 7-10
The way I understand it from the page 4 :
1) A Specific combination (similar to other lateral combination) is now assigned to notional load. The notional load is independant load and not combined with other lateral loads...
