Hi Does any one here have any experience with paper forming paper board ply in to edge boards.
I am looking for information on what works and what doesn't work when it comes to applying glue to paper board ply's moving at 100 meter /min.
All the ply's are in parallel so I cannot cascade the...
Hi
I don't know about most you but I find hydraulic based engineering unchallenging and unintresting. I haves designed systems, pressure vessels, pumps, and I am currently designing valve blocks.
I also don't enjoy my role as my team are treated as a drafting resource rather than an engineering...
80mm + 0.03H7 Bore and shaft 80mm +0 -0.05 parts are with in tolerance but the stickyness of the material make it hard to assemble. i.e ne need a hammer to force it in. Once it the part can rotate freely. What do you guy do to slacken of the tolerance or would it be better to go to a g6 H7 fit
Part are in tolerance but they need a little force to fit and come apart it think it the stickyness of the material.
Do any have any rules for ISO fits when it come to 316L.
Can some tell me why this type O-ring groove design see attached for static seal. Is Not in the Parker handbook?
Please note this is a legacy design and works up to 240 bar of pressure.
I understand that if the tolerances are wrong I will not get correct compression on the o-ring.
And other...
Hi am exploring a design that uses Titanium 6AL-4V GR5 for cost reduction;the part would be contact with a cast cf8m part, it will be submerged salt water mix of Sodium Bromide, Sodium Chloride @ 20 to 50°C at a max 35bar pressure. Would the design get away with galvanic corrosion and an eddy...
I have a pump casing that is cast in 2 parts Xpress Doesn't work for assemblies.
I have couple of question on simulation Xpress
1. The Fixture faces for bolts. Can I get away with split line to create the washer faces. I am using these to simulate the casing being mechanically held together...
I have inheirited a Linear SIC bearing design.
The design was orignally based on using Fluroscint polymer. The Engineers before me changed the material specs to graphite impregnated Sintered SIC but I suspect none of the drawing tolerances have been changed to Suit the material.
Currently the...
I am looking for any designers that have used pump linx and Cf Turbo.
I just want to know what their thoughts are on the products, in terms of acurracy of the results, and the time reduction in 3d designing a impeller and volute for centrifugal pumps?
Did you find the license cost justifiable...
I am designing a flange to be integratated into a cast body so it need to be studded. I have had a look at ASME 16.5 and BS EN 1092-1 as the casting has to be design to machined to take a DN 50mm PN160 type 21 RF flange or a 2" ASME Class 600 Flange the casting is designed to take a...
want to check my calcs for thread engagment and number of bolts need for 240 bar test of pump casing
Bolt M16 A4-80 55mm long no shank
UTS = 800Mpa (not sure of)
UYS = 600Mpa (not sure of)
Shear ratio is 0.75 (not sure if it should be 0.7)
UTSh * 0.75 = 600Mpa
Stress Area of bolt =...
Hi
I previously used SolidEdge ST3
I am working with a small company converting autocad files from 2d to solidworks 3d format.
I currently have to design complex castings and fabrication for pump units. I know solidworks is going to give me more grief over time. I have already come up...
first off
I am currently moving a range products that have been badly managed by the drawing office in autocad to solidworks. And redrawing the parts and assemblies to make sure what is drawn is what we get supplied.
I am wondering if it would be best practice to up issue the redrawn parts...
Hi dumb question but has anyone been able to add a weld seam to a rolled tube in solidworks? If I add an solid extrusion it seem to stop the sheet flattening.
Can you help
thanks
Hi am new to pressure vessel design with flat heads,
I am looking to calculate the thicknees of the head with two openings suitable for socket welding 1/2" sch 80 pipe. material sa 240-316 diameter 6.625" and will butt welded to 6" NB sch 40 pipe.
