I have a few drawings that do not print some dimensions correctly.
I print to PDF using styles, all layers and objects use a style called Style 1 that uses Monochrome.stb
The dimensions are on the layer Dims whose plotstyle is set for Style 1
The dimensions are on the correct layer, properties...
A company ordered a substantial quantity of 8" to 16" double random sch 40 A106B with beveled ends for tankfield piping. About half came in with the ends not cut square, more than 1/8" off. The piping contractor wants a substantial extra per pipe end, the pipe supplier says the A106B spec is...
I've looked all around the WWW and failed to find a DWG of the safety snap hook at the end of a lanyard or safety line. Anyone have one they might share, or suggest a site I many have missed?
In general, dDoes pentane normally corrode aluminum or is aluminum normally resistant to and compatible with pentane?
Where would I go for a good answer?
I'm looking for a device or tool that can be modified or ganged to field tighten four 1/2" bolts at the same time. If it works, I may try eight or sixteen 1/2" bolts and/or another joint with three or six 3/8" bolts. All bolts are closely spaced, the 1/2" bolts are in square groups of four, 1...
Any comments on the differences between 6105-T5 and 6061-T6 for 4" x 2" channels 1/8" web and 3/16" flanges that get mitered, punched and welded to self and 5052-H32? I'm accustomed to 6061-T6 but am being offered 6105-T5. Not anodized, in a general structural application at room temperature...
I've been tasked with designing construction guy wires for a 23' dia x 122' high steel stack being built on the ground. I started with quite a few simplifying assumptions but want to put a finer point to my pencil. I'm using ASCE 7-10 for the wind loads and ASCE 37-14 for construction factors...
I'm needing to make a custom tool for punching and shearing aluminum parts. It's been years since I did this and I'm looking for forums where I can gather information about materials, techniques, vendors, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
thread1452-402562 included references to material comparison charts but they seem to be dead ends. If MVP bimr sees this please post new links if possible. Many thanks!
Does the definition of a metallic composite panel allow for a top skin, bottom skin and nothing but air between? Is some material inside necessary for it to be called a composite panel? The edges of these panels are finished with channels all around.
Is there a source for allowable lateral displacement for a steel i-beam after placement? I have several W12 x 16 beams that are not straight. I am not yet sure why they are not straight but am tasked with evaluating an acceptable tolerance. They are about 37 feet long and about 5 feet apart...
Hello. I'm trapped on a job overseas and a new question came up. My internet is very spotty so I could not do an adequate search. I hate to ask but does anyone have knowledge or experience with Woncote veneer plaster with respect to corrosion on aluminum sheeting 5052-H32 welded with 4043...
I'm designing a new 120 foot diameter by 60 foot high storage tank, one criteria is that it be OK if the foundation settles eight feet on one side. For this analysis, the foundation is assumed to be rigid. While 8 feet sounds like a lot (and it is!), it's only about 4 degrees over 120 feet...
Are the cables or chains used to suspend loads or platforms required to be designed as lifting equipment? In other words, do you have to use chain or cable that is designated "for lifting" or can you use chain or cable that is "not for lifting" but is used within the chain's or cable's...
I have a worksheet with parts in column B and costs in columns N through DD.
For a given row (part number), there may be one or more than one cost in columns N through DD
The columns N through DD have data that is newest to oldest.
It is easy to get the average cost with Average(N3:DD3)
How do I...
I've heard the term "cold roll" used to describe an aluminum fillet weld defect. It seems to be where the toe of the fillet is not concave but exhibits a profile more perpendicular to the material being joined. Does this sound familiar, is there a better description out there? We are using...
