I am investigating the following:
2 adjacent buildings aready constructed, gap between them is 60mm. One is a 38 story R.C structure, the other a 7 story steel structure.
The total drift at 7th floor level for both buildings combined, calculated using ETABS, due to seismic loads is around 100mm...
Does automeshing a plate affect the "W" used in calculating the earthquake lateral loads? When I'm automeshing the "W" is reduced.
I'm not sure whether I'm doing something wrong or whether there is a bug in the software?
Can anybobody help?
Does the ACI Code or BS standards allow tendons to be distributed equally both ways without the need to provide them in bands in at least one direction? <br>
From my reading of the ACI code and Concrete Society Technical Report NO. 25 which is based on BS standards, they seem to allow it.<br>...
I am interested in structural analysis and design software for R.C. continuous beams. Software such as Staad or Sap are more oriented to 2d frames and 3d frames or plates.<br>
Any suggestions?<br>
