Hi:
I used this air/water wash tile with IMS cap many years ago in a 43 usmgd wate plant I designed 15 years ago very successfully in the Toronto area. We did separate air scour washes. The double orifice arrangement spreads out the air and water throughout the filter bed...
Hi All,
I have a NYB vane axial fan with a 25 HP motor on a pulley and it draws about 18 HP running load. On startup the fan screeches very very loudly. A pulley alignment check was made by the fan contractor and supposedly everything is okay. The belt is tight. The belt supposedly shows...
Hi All:
I need some advice
1. I have a closed loop chilled water system and the static head from the centerline of the pump to the top of highest point in the piping system is only 20 ft.
2. I have no expansion tank in the system because my rationale is that my piping can take the pressures...
Hi:
Has anyone experienced problems with these valves. I am finding that the check valve sticks open and I am getting backflow through the idle pump.
Thanks
I need help:
I know there are air film coefficients when we are dealing with a wall that has outside air on one side and indoor air on the other. Those coefficients are for air on both sides of the wall. Are there equivalent coefficients for the two cases i have below?
If I have a concrete...

Hi:
I am comparing the ASHRAE U values for different thickness of concrete to http://www.combustionresearch.com/Infra-Spec/infra-spec/uvalue.html. and to http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_R_value_of_concrete
Can anyone explain the difference?
Hi:
Can anyone suggest how to clean out the interior of a potable water cooling coil? The interior tubing may be coated with a film of alum sludge similar to what you would see in the interior of a street watermain. Any suggestions of what companies would do this type of work?
Does anybody have any experience with the Sieman's multwash system. They are promoting a simultaneous water and air backwash. They have "wings" on their backwash troughs and short plate settlers.
I have a 92 kW electric duct heater. In one general location, the straight portion of the coil termination on all 3 phases has "broken off and disappeared". We shorted to ground and the fuses went. The coils are of uniform color so I don't think we are starved for air...manufacturing defect...

It most likely is not cavitation. Cavitation means you do not have enough NPSHa. I will bet that the water levels in the cooling tower is not set correctly and you are getting air in the pump as a result. It may sound like cavitation and over the long term it will cause the...
