I have been asked to design the foundation for a pole shed. They said they typically dig an 18" diameter hole, drop the 6X6 wood post in, and pour it solid with concrete half way up.
I have a couple of concerns.
1) is it okay to bury treated wood in concrete?

I have an existing precast plank roof, and we're adding a taller addition, so it will cause snow drift on the existing plank. If I install a new beam line to break up the existing span into two smaller spans, do I need to saw-cut the precast over the beam so I don't produce any negative moment...
I have a beam (tube) where I'm welding a smaller tube to the bottom to stiffen it up. Does anyone have any good resources explaining the method of designing the weld?
