    EPDM vs Autodesk Vault Manufacturing

Anyone got any comments on the user-friendliness of PDM Enterprise vs Autodesk Vault Professional in a mixed Solidworks/AutoCad drawing office? Anyone tried to use either on a Novell Netware network?

Allowable Bearing stress - High tensile pin

Hi Any ideas on where to find allowable bearing stress for a greased 4340 (high-tensile) pin in a 4340 bush. Pin rotates under load. We would normally use 80-100 Mpa allowable for mild steel components but are there any published allowables for higher tensile components. Thanks

    Part configurations

I gather you Inventor guys handle configurations as separate iparts, iassy's etc to allow families of parts and tabulated drawings. How do you handle say an FEA configuration of an assembly? A sheetmetal configuration?

Just selecting and manipulating the view, annotation, part or underlying sketch you want is a mission, let alone...

    Lifting chain hooks

Hi Can anyone offer advice on the machining of lifting hooks from solid steel plate (instead of forging). Obviously, grain direction is not optimal but is it actually a terrible idea? (provided detailed fatigue analysis is carried out, the steel properties are well characterised, grain...

Hi Any idea why the Manufacturing Proof Test force in EN818 & EN1667 is 2.5 x WLL, while in ISO, AS3775 and other national standards, the value is 2.0 x WLL Thanks

    Proof loading EN818 vs AS3775

Does anyone know why EN818-? (chain sling components) requires manufacturing proof loading to 2.5 x WLL, while ISO and AS3775 only ask for 2.0 x WLL?
