What are the conditions that determine an uncontrolled ethylene decomposition in a vessel, pipeline or a well?
From what I know, decomposition can occur:
1) at certain rates of compression
2) at high temperature
3) when there is water, air, rust, or other foreign matters in ethylene flow path...
Anybody has a formula that calculates the minimum wall thickness of a pipe when subjected to external pressure?

Anybody knows what clearances should be between impeller wear ring and bowl wear ring in a vertical can pump?
I know that API 610 gives clearance data, but are they applicable also to can pumps?
I need to determine visually if a tubing installed on a metering skid is 304 SS or 316.
I understood that you can differenciate between SS 304 and 316 (or 316L) by looking at the tubing. 316 looks shinier.
Do you have to spray the tubing with water to start some surface corrosion?
