I know this is easier than what I'm making it....
When constructing a Spiral and the starting position is known, what is the PITCH value you'd enter to get
a common 45deg tooth gear such as for a matched set of right-angle gears.
Tried 8, which doesnt look too bad, but I know it's gotta be...
Have done a lot of reading on the 'net trying to find a definitive answer for calculating the Pull Out Force of a screw in Aluminum.
Here are the knowns

Length of engagement = 5/8"

It seems the HoleWizard wants to place the first hole and make it Fixed...the question is "why?"
I know I've run across this before and was able to change something to stop it from doing that, but I can't seem to find where the heck the mode is changed.

How do you go about altering dimension line(s) to avoid an obstruction ?
For instance...
The 1st jpg shows a normal dimension line (with breaks)
The 2nd is what we'd like to have....any suggestions?
Thnx

When I export an asembly as *.easm, the recipient is able to open the file and rotate views OK.
The main Assembly has a sub-assembly in it, which is Mated with Limits. (Moves just fine in the original *.SLDASM)
There are also sub-assemblies within the sub-assembly which are made up...
Would this be the correct froum for questions about designing a wheeled tractor using hydraulic motors?
I know what I'd like to do, but not sure how to go about it.
If this is the place, OK...but if not, can someone direct me to another forum or internet site for this kind of discussion ...
What would be the best way to get an opposing set of 7 spokes into this Hub part?
They would be in alternate postions around the hub; much like the spokes in a bicycle wheel.
I've Mirrored the Revolve using Plane 1 which represents the center of the wheel rim (exists in the Ay)
What to do with...
Years ago, I used QBasic to create dxf files (actually I started with GW-Basic, then went to Basic.....which gives you an idea of what is meant by "Years ago,")
Later, I had good results using QBasic.
The problem (now) is that QBasic doesn't seem too happy in WinXP environment and you're pretty...

What works best for showing multiple views of an assembly in one drawing where some (unconstrained) components or subays have been moved to show new positions?
This is to give a visual representation as to how different subay(s) might affect design.
Display State is not really what I'm...

What needs to be done to get these threads to show correctly?
This nose part is an Extrude, but I've tried using a Revolve too, with same results.
Doesn't matter if I Insert threads first or if the slitting/cuts are made first.

Making a rudimentary "spool" with some holes.
The 1/4-20 tapped hole is intended to go to the centerline of the spool and intersect a 3/16 dia hole previously drilled from the bottom.
I get this error message.... link to jpg below
There is no Farside countersink callout as can be seen...

trying to Insert a Part into a Part, then subtract the new body from the fixed one.
In this case, I have a #4 C'Drill that needs to "drilled" into the end of a small bar.
Someone suggested using the HoleWizard to do this, but I can't find any C'Drills in the selections. (maybe...
Recently, I've posted some jpgs on the forum....then thought it would be better to use ENGINEERING.com to link to so as not to make the original post so huge and cumbersome to read.
After some nosing around on ENGINEERING.com , I finally got to the place where you can upload pix. (That took a...
Not a big deal, but can someone steer me to a site that would have dimensions for the sprockets used on steel detachable chain, (also called Flat chain)
This chain was commonly used for farm elevators, drive chains for planters, and manure spreaders among many other applications.
I've found a...

For an AC 120v 60hz, single phase motor (which is no longer being made); the tag on the 3M127B Dayton motor says 1.4 amp.
I'm assuming that means operating amperage at 112 in lbs max torque.
Motor is non-reversible.
So...what would be the rating for a...
In SW2006, the Help article talks about how you can add (or modify existing?) Crosshatching to a bordered area and provide "halo space" around the annotations/dimensions that might appear in that view.
HOW is this set or done??
using SW2006.
For an assembly, when I save as "eDrawing (*.easm)";
or for a drawing, save as "eDrawings (*edrw)"
why do the models and drawings all appear as a solid dark green color;
can't seem to find what setting changes that either in the eDrawings EModelViewer Module or when initially...
