in a repair of a tank the shell suffer a distortion in the connection to the bottom anular plate.
the distortion is 360º , 9 to 13 mm (1/2") to the inside.
I cannot find anything specific to this in API 653, to reference.
most similar is banding between shell limit to 13 mm (1/2") in...

because of leaks in emergency vent´s we are thinking of change the seal material from Teflon to Viton.
The Viton allows better seal, but i think it can have the problem of stick

we have some tanks that dont have N2 blanket, so i want to install them.
But the tank are not anchor, if it´s still possible to install the N2?
i now with the calculations of API 650 the availble pressure to install is so smal that maybee it will not be possible/useful.

in my company we are thinking to connect some tanks to flare.
the inbreath will be N2
and the out breath to the flare with a check valve to avoid the return.
simple!!
but unfortanely the N2 blankting can fail and O2 can enter the tank, and then during the out breathing we will putt O2...
