    decorative screws

Does anybody have a lead on 8-32 flush head screws with painted heads? There are boeing specs, but they show zero stock. I may end up using NAS517 and painting the head myself.

    mesh fabric meeting 25.855 burn

Hi guys. Anybody know of a 9X9 mesh fabric that will pass burn tests per 25.855? This is a 9G separator net for a bulk loaded airplane. The mesh is used to keep smaller stuff in place. I'd use herculite, but can't because the customer doesn't want to re-do the smoke detection test. Not...

747-400 S/N, line number, basic/variable number cross reference

Anybody know of a complete 747-400 cross reference for S/N, line number and basic/variable number, similar to what is found in the front matter of the SRM?

Acceptable to have assembly drawing an exploded view?

Hi all. I have a high level question regarding what an assembly drawing should be. To me, an assembly drawing should be a three view of the assembly, with auxiliary views and sections taken as appropriate. I have a designer (technically my boss) who insists on making his assembly drawings as...

Minimum thickness required for contact area

Hi all. I have a triangular load distribution due to contact between a plate and a hinged fitting. I know load magnitude and contact area. How do I go about determining minimum plate thickness required to prevent this thing being a can opener? It seems that if I consider the load magnitude...

2014 T6511 extrusion plastic bending LT

Hello all. Anybody have a reference for 2014 T6511 extrusion plastic bending in the LT direction? Everything I see is for the L direction. Since Ftu is the same for both the L and LT directions, could I use the charts for the L direction and reason it that way? Thanks.

    7050 Plate Lug Curves

Hi All, Is anybody aware of any published axial and transverse lug strength factor curves for 7050 T7451 plate? With the use of 7050 plate in lieu of forging blanks, I would think that somebody came up with data. I haven't been able to find any. Thanks!

    Cozzone question

I am working on determining maximum strength of a part we've been making for 30 years. All previous analyses have applied a load to the part to see if it can take it. The cross section I have are two 1" high x .4" wide rectangles spaced at 4.5" with a .318" hole drilled parallel to the neutral...

    bolt tension question

Hi all. First time here. I'm reviewing an analysis which determines bolt tension load and references Lockheed Stress Memo 79c dated 08-15-73. Problem is that I don't have the reference and can't follow what was done. Anybody know where one of these may be lying around unattended? Thanks.
