What is the correct way to specify a bolting pattern to connect two wood members? If I want 2 rows top and bottom with each row spaced 12" apart and offset by 6" do I say 1/2" bolts 12" o.c. staggered" or do I say 1/2" bolts 6" o.c. staggered top and bottom? Sounds simple but have a lot of...
I was asked to analyze a series of floor joists that have multiple holes. The code does not address how many holes can be installed next to each other. In this case I think a minimum spacing of 4inches is required to prevent splitting. I am trying to find a reference regarding this concern...
looking for an old NER report from ICC (now ESRs). It is for a Georgia Pacific I-joist built around 1999. The label is GP Performance with the NER indicated as NER-OR357 or 397
If anyone has an old brochure, it would be greatly appreciated. They are 11-7/8 deep with 2x4 flanges
Thanks

New Jersey did not have a standard state code until 1976. I believe most engineers and architects Used BOCA. Trying to find pre 1978 BOCA codes or the codes you think were used.
Thanks,
